LISTEN BEFORE CHOOSING
How should I compare cymbal sound demos?
Compare the same cymbal type and size with similar playing strength, microphones and recording settings. Listen for the attack, sustain and stick definition. A compressed social video cannot establish the volume or feel in your room, and B20 alloy alone does not tell you whether a cymbal suits your band.
Send us your shortlist and budget. We will confirm stock and which exact cymbals can be demonstrated before you travel; not every listed model is available to try.

Before visiting Soma Music.
Where can I buy cymbals in Kuala Lumpur?
Soma Music is a specialist drum and cymbal store at Dataran Pandan Prima, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. Contact the team before visiting to confirm the exact brand, model and size currently available.
Which cymbal brands does Soma Music carry?
The website lists Arborea and Nimbus cymbals, including Nimbus Gerhana B20 and Obsidian collections plus multiple Arborea series. Availability can change, so check current stock first.
Can beginners get help choosing cymbals?
Yes. Tell the team your drum setup, music, experience and budget. They can help you compare hi-hats, crashes, rides, splashes, effects cymbals and complete sets.
Are all cymbals shown online available in the shop?
Not necessarily. Online pages document the product range, while current shop stock can vary by series, model and size. Contact Soma Music for confirmation before travelling.
Does Soma Music sell B20 cymbals?
Yes. Nimbus Aether, Gerhana, Obsidian, Helios and Dune are B20 ranges with the same prices for matching types and sizes. Nimbus Quasar is B10 and has separate pricing. Arborea Ghost, AP, Knight, Dragon and Gravity are B20; their listed B20 sets cost RM2,020 each and include a 20-inch ride, 16-inch crash and 14-inch hi-hat pair. Confirm the exact model and stock before ordering.
Which cymbals should a beginner compare?
If you need a set, compare the Arborea Hero 2.0 and Hero N at RM450, each with listed 14, 16, 18 and 20-inch sizes plus a free 8-inch splash. If you already own cymbals, replacing one hi-hat, crash or ride may suit your needs better than buying another set. Ask us to confirm the cymbal types and any accessories in your quotation.
Which cymbals should I choose for a worship band?
There is no single cymbal set for every worship band. Tell Soma Music your room size, amplification, existing cymbals and budget. Compare hi-hat definition, crash response and ride clarity in a demonstration at your usual playing volume. Alloy and price alone do not establish suitability; ask which exact models can be demonstrated.
